North Lincs Council and the DoE are anticipating flooding in parts of Barrow if we have the heavy rain forecast for Wednesday and Thursday this week.

As a precaution, they are sending us a supply of sandbags to be used in the event of flooding. They will not be available unless the threat is imminent and they are not to be stockpiled.

In the event of flooding becoming imminent in vulnerable parts of the village, further information will be available from the Clerk to the Parish Council, Mrs Ann Boulton, tel: 07761 831106.

Villagers requiring sandbags will be expected to make their own arrangements for collection of the sandbags from a central distribution point.

Let us hope that we do not need to use them.
